Sunrise at SFO

Waiting for our 7am flight to Miami. It was the first time I had actually watched the sun rise.

Canoe Ride :)

Just went on a canoe ride with Justin and a couple of friends in the river behind the sanctuary. We saw a wild momma and baby sloth (that we named Mahogany and Banana), a group of howler monkeys, a raccoon, tons of crabs and a basalisk (Jesus lizard). Oh, and I picked some bananas off of a bunch and sang some Star Wars scores. It was really great; it’s so beautiful here, and I love that we can just take canoes out whenever we want.

Sorry

Hey guys, sorry we haven’t been able to post, the internet went down…but it’s up now. Unfortunately the picture’s aren’t really working that well…so we’ll be working on that. Anyways Justin and I have been having a great time. We met a bunch of great people and we love working with the sloths 🙂 I’m mainly taking care of the three fingered sloths (bradypus) and Justin’s been taking care of some of the two toed sloths (choloepus). We get to feed them, clean their cages, prepare their food, and play with them (which is obviously the best part).I’m going to try and figure out this picture problem so you guys can see the cute sloths!

Here We Go!

If you’re reading this blog, than you probably know that my boyfriend, Justin, and I are traveling to Costa Rica and volunteering at the Sloth Sanctuary. Tomorrow we get to wake up at 4 am and head off to SFO, then Miami, and finally Costa Rica. We’re making this blog mainly because we told the Sloth Sanctuary we would, but also as a sort of travel journal and a means to show A LOT of cute sloth pictures 🙂 We’re both really excited for this trip and I can’t wait to hold a sloth! Hopefully we’ll be able to post daily and show the internet what we’re doing. – Catie
